It takes only five minutes, uses only four ingredients, and it’s delicious! Our Marketing & Softgoods Buyer, Jenny, shareS her recipe for making Dalgona coffee at home.

DALGONA COFFEE

History

The beverage's origins can be traced to the Indian subcontinent, where it is called phenti hui ("beaten coffee", "whipped coffee"), and has long been popular there before being viral on social media.[6][7]

Society and culture

Dalgona coffee gained popularity during the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic when many governments began a campaign to promote isolation and social distancing.[8] Dalgona is the name of the South Korean version of honeycomb toffee candy.

Enjoy Dalgona coffee hot or cold.

RECIPE 

(for one serve)

In a bowl, add:

2 tablespoons of your favourite instant coffee powder

2 tablespoons sugar or your favourite sweetener (granulated sugar works best)

2 tablespoons boiling water

Vigorously whisk for 3 to 5 minutes until stiff peaks form

Pro tip: use an electric hand mixer

For hot beverage:

Heat 1 cup of almond milk or milk beverage of choice

Add to mug, add mixture on top. Serve. Enjoy!

For cold beverage:

Pour 1 cup of almond milk or milk beverage of choice in glass over ice

Add mixture on top. Serve. Enjoy!

Hot or cold dalgona coffee






If you're feeling extra:

Repeat the process using Matcha Powder instead of coffee.

Layer glass starting with Matcha mixture, followed by warm or iced milk, and finally with the coffee mixture.
