Greg Minnaar's signature tire, the Maxxis Assegai, is renowned for its exceptional performance and unwavering traction. Designed to deliver unrivaled grip, the Assegai maintains its tenacious hold on any surface, regardless of the lean angle. This tire offers a level of predictability that instills confidence in riders, allowing them to push their limits without fear of losing control. The Assegai's versatility shines through, as it can be used both as a front and rear tire, providing a consistently surefooted feel. Alternatively, when paired with a faster rolling rear tire, it optimizes speed while still offering the essential grip that riders seek. Whether tackling rugged terrain or seeking speed on the trails, the Maxxis Assegai is a top choice for riders who value performance, reliability, and a thrilling ride.
|An intermediate compound configuration used in select mountain tires. 3C MaxxTerra is softer and offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, yet provides better treadwear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip.
|EXO+ is Maxxis’ medium-duty puncture protection option suitable for all-around trail riding and light weight e-bikes. Beginning with a durable 60 TPI casing, add in Maxxis' legendary EXO puncture protection layer in the sidewalls, and top it off with a small butyl insert around the bead. The tough casing and EXO material ward off damage from rocks and roots, while the butyl insert protects the tire from pinch flats and helps prevent rim damage.
|Tubeless tires provide the rider with many benefits: the ability to run lower air pressures, which improves traction; lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tire; and less chance of flatting because there is no tube. Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tires: tubeless road, tubular, and tubeless ready.
