Salomon added a ribbed exoskeleton around the midfoot, so the shell stays stiff under load and the boot skis with more power on the way down. Think of it as the Procline that spends more time on the skin track.

The fully zippered gaiter and lower buckle cable system are gone, and the sole uses lower-density rubber with no toe cover. What you keep is the cuff: 75˚ of fore/aft motion in walk mode, plus 35˚ of lateral flex that no other boot has at the cuff. Wider skis need extra torque to stay on edge, and the 14 mm oversized pivot cuts play so your power goes straight to them.

Key Features

Last: 98 mm

Flex: Medium

Cuff Range of Motion: 75˚ fore/aft and 35˚ lateral (23˚ medial, 12˚ lateral)

Pivot: 14 mm oversized pivot

Power Strap: 50 mm cinch strap with quick release pull loop

Construction: Grilamid shell, carbon fiber and Grilamid cuff, carbon spine

Walk Mode: Patented walk mode mechanism with 2 piece carbon upper cuff

Liner: Ultralight Custom Fit 3D Liner, 100% thermo foam, with two loops

Gaiter: No zip mid-size gaiter

Buckles: 2 light micro adjusting buckles

Sole: Contagrip rubber sole with Dynafit certified tech fittings, compatible with tech bindings only

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0574/9148/8937/files/Salomon-S-Lab-X-Alp-Boot-2019-Black-Carbon-210000015623.png?v=1793216014
