Think of the Sakana as the wild card in the lineup. Its swallowtail turns heads at the lift line, and Eric Pollard pushed for it after seeing the tail work in surfing and snowboard designs. Five blended radii in the sidecut give you a wide variety of turn shapes, which keeps things interesting.
Under foot, the base and edges are 30% thicker, with 2mm by 2.5mm steel edges and a 1.7mm base. Your tuning bench will thank you. The sintered base soaks up wax well for quick glide. Carbon stringers with flax tape add stiffness without the pingy feel of full carbon. Directional flex keeps things easy: a softer tip starts turns, while a stiffer tail adds stability at speed.
