Mounted out back, the DHR II handles braking and cornering while a Minion DHF up front covers front grip. Paddle-shaped center knobs bite down hard when you're on the brakes, so the bike holds its line instead of washing out. Around the shoulder, side knobs pull from the DHF but widen for more cornering support.
Downhill casing runs two layers bead to bead for extra sidewall support under hard riding. Up top, the 3C MaxxGrip compound is Maxxis' softest, with slow rebound that locks the tire onto loose ground.
