If you spend cold days hiking for your turns, the [ak] Swash pants are worth a close look. They pair a waterproof GORE-TEX 2L shell with 40 grams of PrimaLoft Silver, so the warmth is already in the fabric.
A triple-stitched inseam and an anti-scuff cuff take the abuse from boots, and the water resistant boot gaiter helps keep snow out.
