Sage Kotsenburg wanted a board suited to pillowy, forested terrain, something that could pivot and release through tight lines. That led to the Sky Pilot: a directional shape with a slightly wider footprint and a medium flex sitting right in the middle of K2's lineup.
3D Base Contour lifts the tip and tail off the snow for easy pivoting in deep powder, while the Carbon Y-Beam channels power from underfoot to the nose for stable edge hold. Sizing runs 148 to 163 with an all-gender fit, so most riders should downsize 3 to 5cm from their usual length.
