Eric Pollard pushed for the Pescado's swallowtail after experiencing its advantages in surfing and snowboard designs, and it's the big reason this ski behaves the way it does. Deep snow is where it shines. The huge shovel and directional shape keep you planing, so you're surfing the powder instead of fighting it. Then the groomers call, and it still rails them.
Ditch the tail material and you shed weight while keeping a long effective edge for arcing turns. In soft snow, the tail drops and your tips lift, so you float without sitting back to keep your balance. The tail is reinforced with titanal, so it stays in one piece. Five blended radii in the sidecut give you a wide range of turn shapes that feel intuitive right away.
Key Features
- 5CUT™ Multi-Radius Sidecut: Five blended radii for a wide variety of turn shapes and an intuitive feel
- Swallowtail: Tail knockout de-couples the farthest reaches of the effective edge, reinforced with titanal
- Early Rise: Tip and tail lift away from the snow to bring contact points closer to center for more lift in deep snow and quicker engagement on hardpack
- Directional Flex: Softer tip for floating and easy turn initiation, stiffer tail for power, stability, and high-speed control
- Sidewall Construction: Vertical sidewalls maximize power transfer to the edges for stability and grip at higher speeds
- Sintered Base: Dense, high-performance base that absorbs wax efficiently for superior glide and durability across snow types
